Art and Color 365 Magazine People - 2023 Oils Competition

It’s part of Art and Color 365’s mission to celebrate artists for the unique perspectives, amazing skills, beautiful imagery, and creativity they contribute to the world. We do this through regular feature stories in our magazine about significant artists and with monthly art competitions that showcase artists to bring them greater attention and offer broader outreach for their work.

Art and Color 365, a bi-monthly digital and print art magazine, announces its 2023 Figural/People Art Competition. Entries will be accepted through November 5, 2023. All winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), Winners Tier, which includes artwork that was considered for the top three awards; Special Merit, Artistic Recognition Award Recipients, and Honorable Mentions will have their artwork featured in the Late Fall/Winter issue of the magazine. Winners and award recipients will be notified by email. Additionally, Art and Color 365 will write feature stories for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners.

Figural/People Theme. Artists may submit artwork in any two-dimensional medium, including mixed media work and collage. Artwork can be submitted in any style and should depict human figures and people in any setting. No erotic art allowed.

All works must be original. “Original” means that the work must be created from the hand of a single artist and not be taken from other artists’ work or materials for which you do not hold the copyright. Artwork subjects and compositions may not be derived from other artists’ artwork or from artwork published in print or online. Copying another artist’s work or digitally drawing on top of another person’s photography or artwork does not qualify as original art. No AI artwork, please.

Prize Summary:

Top three winners receive a multi-page feature story in the Fall 2023 issue of Art and Color 365 Magazine; 1st Place winner also receives a 150 cash prize.

Prizes Details:

Feature Stories The top three competition winners will be featured in Art and Color 365’s magazine and website exhibitions and receive extensive social media promotion and individualized press releases to top U.S. media outlets and search engines; a digital award certificate for social media; a letter-size certificate for printing; and a free digital issue of Art and Color 365 magazine featuring winning entries from the competition.

Additionally, winners receive: 1st Place: Wins $150 cash plus an six-page magazine and website feature story about the artist showcasing up to eight pieces of their art. 2nd Place: Wins a four-page magazine and website feature story about the artist showcasing up to five pieces of their art. 3rd Place: Wins a two-page magazine feature story about the artist showcasing up to three pieces of their art.

Winners Tier, Special Merit Awards, Artistic Recognition, and Honorable Mention Recipients: Artists will have their competition entries included in exhibitions in Art and Color 365’s magazine and on our website; will receive a digital award certificate and a letter-size certificate to print; a 25% discount on a digital issue of Art and Color 365 magazine featuring winning entries from the competition; and be included in social media posts and reels featuring their artwork category.
