ELIGIBILITY: Artists are welcome to submit works in any visual medium which can be showcased in print format: painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textile, installation, digital, film, performance, any form of mixed media etc. Artists or any art organisations on behalf of artists from all countries are welcome to submit their works for consideration. Duos and collaboration works are welcome. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. There is no specific theme for this call for art. Print and online editions of ArtMaze Mag are distributed worldwide. More info: www.linktr.ee/artmazemag Edition 36 is to be curated exclusively by ArtMaze Mag editorial team. DEADLINE: 19th October (midnight: end of the day 19 October – Eastern Standard Time)

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY AND PROCEED VIA THE LINK TO THE ONLINE FORM: WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN APPLYING:  Make sure you have read all the information and have become familiar with the magazine - online and in print. Please note that it is crucial to consider ArtMaze’s call for art processing fees before applying to make sure that this opportunity is in line with your expectations.  You are welcome to read online and print copies of published editions, as well as subscribe annually online to get the feel of the publication, its design and read about fellow makers www.linktr.ee/artmazemag SELECTION OF WORKS AND NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS: Results for our contests are normally announced around after 7+ weeks after the official deadline of the call or, if the dealine was extended, after its offiacial extension, to ensure that our team have enough time to give their full attention to each applicant’s work, carefully selecting finalists for print publications. Results will be announced via email to all those who applied as well as via our newsletter. Announcement emails and urgent images requests from us tend to go to Spam folders. Please make sure to always check your Spam folder if you did not receive anything in your main Inbox folder. If for any reason you did not receive an email from us – please get in touch with us via info@artmazemag.com. "IS HAVING AN ARTIST WEBSITE MANDATORY FOR THIS APPLICATION?"  Providing an artist website is not mandatory in order to submit work however if you have any portfolio link that could show us more of what you do other than what you have submitted - it is always very helpful. If you do not have any online portfolio at all - not to worry - just make sure you include detailed information in your statement/bio and attach good images of your best artworks as well as all the required information.  If providing your online website - please make sure the website is open for public (not private) and is up and running and does not have expired domain.  Instagram portfolio is optional (we like looking through IG profiles!), but please understand Instagram portfolio is not always enough in order to understand the bigger scope of the progress and content of work as well as enlarging images and reading more information about you as an artist. Therefore we suggest all artists to try to maintain a website and update it regularly - this is really important, not just for the open call, but in general. Many people, as well as visiting multiple art shows, browse contemporary art online everyday - as do we, but we find that taking a look at the artist's website always works best in terms of getting a 'clear picture' of each artist's practice. As much as Instagram connects us all so well around the globe and brings exposure and international reach to each one of us, it does not work so well as an actual portfolio in showcasing your work professionally online*.  If you do provide your social media tag, please make sure it is a public account, not private. *We provide this information based on our working experience with artists' submissions. "CAN I UPLOAD IMAGE DETAILS OR IMAGES OF ONLY ONE WORK IN MY APPLICATION?"  We provide a maximum of five image uploads per each application. Please upload five different works - one artwork per image/file (unless your artwork is a diptych, triptych, large or small installation etc). Please do not combine artworks with info and other images of works in one jpg. We do not advise submitting image details of works. If we are interested in a specific work we will request more images. "DO I SPECIFICALLY NEED TO SEND 5 IMAGES OF WORKS OR CAN I SEND LESS ARTWORKS?"  We provide a maximum of 5 images uploads per submission and we strongly advise artists to send us different works (using all 5 image uploads) for consideration because it gives more chances to be selected. But if you still wish to stick with less than 5 images of works in your application - this is acceptable. "DO I NEED TO SUBMIT WORKS FROM ONE SERIES/BODY OF WORK OR A MIXED SELECTION?"  You are welcome to send five different works from only one body of work/series or a mixed selection from your practice. This is totally your choice. "WE ARE APPLYING AS A GALLERY ON BEHALF OF OUR ARTISTS. IS IT OK TO INCLUDE 5 IMAGES IN ONE APPLICATION FOR MORE THAN ONE ARTIST OR MULTIPLE SEPARATE ARTISTS?"  Unless you are an artist duo or applying with collaboration pieces by a group of artists, we do not accept single applications with separate works of different artists. If such submission is made it won't be considered. "I MISSED THE DEADLINE BY MINUTES/SECONDS - CAN I SEND MY SUBMISSION VIA EMAIL OR COULD YOU EXTEND THE DEADLINE FOR ME?"  ArtMaze Magazine is following a systematised submission process via Submittable platform which is also operating fee processes. We do not accept submissions via email and extensions of expired deadlines upon demand are not possible unless we make a special extension announcement to the call before the official deadline. "I ATTACHED WRONG IMAGES/TEXT/WEBSITE IN MY APPLICATION - CAN I SEND YOU THE CORRECT ONES VIA EMAIL SO YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO EDIT MY SUBMISSION?"  We urge everyone to be very attentive to our call for art requirements and extra careful whilst filling in the online form. Make sure you have enough time to think through what you will be submitting. Our calls normally last for at least 1.5 months which provides plenty of time to prepare the submission material. No changes/refunds can be made once the application has been sent off and paid for. Make sure all works, including recent ones, which you are happy to showcase are also presented on your website or social media - we always check through additional information about each artist when such is provided. "CAN I APPLY MULTIPLE TIMES?" or IF YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN PUBLISHED IN ONE OR MORE OF OUR PREVIOUS ISSUES:  If you choose to submit again: we encourage artists who have been previously published to apply each time with completely new works or new body of works which were not used for previous applications/features in ArtMaze Magazine. You are welcome to apply as many times as you wish. "WHY WASN’T MY WORK SELECTED?" and "COULD YOU PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK AS TO WHY MY WORK WAS NOT SELECTED?"  Please note, our opportunities are competition-based, therefore, if your work was published in our issues before it does not provide a guarantee that your new work will be accepted because of that. We select work based purely on the quality factor as well as taking into account the competitive nature of the opportunity and unfortunate fact that we are unable to publish everyone who applies. We accept and publish all mediums but we do not restrict each selection to a mandatory inclusion of any particular medium.  Sadly, we cannot provide all submitted artists with constructive feedback/critique on why their work wasn’t selected as this is something that is beyond our resources and physical working capacity and is a complex process in itself which requires very careful attention and time spent on constructing a specialised opinion.

PUBLISHING APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: PUBLICATION ON DOUBLE PAGE: – apply 3-5 images (format: jpeg; 72 dpi; Title_Name_Surname.jpg; size limit per image: 5 Mb – this is not a strict size requirement but try to not go over 5Mb excessively) – website, brief written bio/artist statement and image information (title, medium, dimension) NOTE: bio and statement together may not contain more than 350 words* – non-refundable processing fee** If your work is accepted for the publication and your bio exceeds the given limit of 350 words we will shorten it. PROCESSING FEES: ArtMaze Magazine is an artist-run, ad-free independent international publication with a worldwide distribution. ArtMaze Magazine does not contain any advertisements in order to provide its readers with a continuous art experience.
