About the event

The overall goals of the Carlton Art Project are to: - Create visually compelling and uplifting artwork that enlivens three common areas in the building as part of its renovation - Incorporate a community informed practice in the development of the artwork, with designs that connect to the experiences and interests of the Carlton community - Collaborate with Mercy Housing staff and residents in the refinement of artwork design concepts  The Project is focused on creating artwork for 3 spaces at the Carlton, each between 20-30 sq/ ft, located in the building’s front entry hallway, reading room, and activity room (see detail Carlton Art Locations). Artists may apply and be selected to produce artwork for one or more of the spaces.  The artist fee for the project is $2,000-3,000 for each location, to be determined based upon design proposal. Material and production expenses will be established with Architreasures upon approval of final designs.
