About the event

The China International Poster Biennale (CIPB) was founded in 2003 on the banks of the West Lake in Hangzhou, China. It is the highest-level poster design competition in China and one of the most watched poster competitions and exhibitions in the international graphic design field. So far, more than tens of thousands of poster works have been received from more than 40 countries and regions around the world.

Posters are a medium that transcends language. They reflect the current concepts, aesthetics and ideological trends of the current era, and record the thinking of designers from different regions on social, cultural, environmental and other phenomena. The all-encompassing works also record an era. The development of it creates the visual history of a period. As time passes, we look forward to more diverse, more open and innovative poster design works.

The 11th China International Poster Biennale will be held in Hangzhou, China, from November to December 2023. It will be hosted by the China Academy of Art and the Zhejiang Artists Association, and will be organized by the School of Visual Communication of the China Academy of Art and the Zhejiang Artists Association. Co-organized by the Art Committee, it aims to present the diverse development and innovative exploration of global poster design, so as to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning between the fields of international graphic design.
