About the event

The Fábrica das Histórias - Casa Jalme Umbelino presents the 2nd edition of the blennial Illustration contest on the theme of "Resistance," whose main objectives are to promote Illustration as an artistic discipline, bringing Illustrators and participating students closer to the cultural heritage of Torres Vedras, Portugal, and create new artistic content, within the scope of the chosen themes.

Artists in the field of Illustration, of legal age, can submit their work on paper and using free techniques, In a

30cmx40cm portrait format. To enter the contest, complete the online form on the Torres Vedras Municipal

Council website, upload a copy of your artwork, In JPEG format and 300 DPI resolution. Originals or

Illustrations in digital format, printed on quality paper, must be Identifled with a signature on the back of the

Illustration only.

In February 2024 we will announce the 25 Illustrations with the most points, and from March 16 to July 31, 2024, at Fábrica das Histórlas - Casa Jalme Umbellno, the exhibition consisting of selected Illustrations will be on display.

An exhibition of the selected illustrations will be on display at the FH-CJU from 16 March to 31 July 2024, and the participants will receive a competition catalogue. Artists in the field of illustration, who are of legal age, will receive prize money of €1,500 and €500 respectively for 1st and 2nd place, with the illustrations becoming part of the organisation’s art collection.
