FREE ENTRY / CICA - New Media Art Conference and Exhibitions 2024

Call for Papers

CICA Museum invites creative writers, scholars, and artists worldwide to participate in the CICA New Media Art Conference 2024 and the publication. We are open to proposals for paper presentations, workshops, experimental sessions, as well as artistic performance. Every artist/researcher of an accepted submission will be provided with an opportunity to discuss the merits of his or her contribution with peers. It is required that the Exhibitor will register and physically attend the conference. Selected essays will be featured in the book “New Media Art 2025,” expected to be published in December 2024. The book will be available in major bookstores in Korea, and in the United States and other countries.

*This year’s categories include: -Artificial Intelligence Art -Art and Social Media -Art and Mass Media -Art and Politics -Art and Copyright -Art and the Environment -Environmental Art -New Media Culture -Activist Art -Art in a Global Pandemic -Single Channel Video & Animation -New Media Installations -Interactive Art -Game Art -Web Art -Virtual/Augmented Reality Art -3D Printed Art -Data Visualization -Performance (Addressing Media Related Issues)

* How to submit: -Please send us an abstract (300-600 words) with a short bio. Please email them to “cicamuseum.submission@gmail.com.” -Preferred format: DOC or PDF -Please write “Submission: CICA NMAC 2024 – Proposal – Artist/Writer’s Name” in the subject line of your email.

* Timeline: February 9, 2024: Close submissions February 12 – 29, 2024: Approvals: Selected artists will be notified by email. June 29 – July 1, 2024: CICA NMA Conference 2024 December 15, 2024: Expected publication date of “New Media Art 2025” ***The dates are subject to change.

Call for Exhibitions

CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to participate in the Solo Exhibition Series for the CICA New Media Art Conference 2024 and the publication. Selected artists will have solo exhibitions in the gallery space. Around 44 square meters will be assigned for each artist. Every artist/researcher of an accepted submission will be provided with an opportunity to discuss the merits of his or her contribution with peers. It is required that the Exhibitor will register and physically attend the conference. Selected essays will be featured in the book “New Media Art 2025,” expected to be published in December 2024. The book will be available in major bookstores in Korea, and in the United States and other countries.
