D#AVANTGARDE and the Traklhaus invite you
Artists are invited to submit their works for the upcoming exhibition “AI and art. A symbiotic vision” . The aim of this exhibition is to explore the creative dialogue between artists and AI, using classic and new media as a means of expression. Around ten suitable works of art are to be exhibited under Art in the Traklhaus, from classic media to moving images to interactive installations and works from the area of augmented reality (AR). Themes of the exhibition
- Integration of AI into the creative process.
- Collaboration between artists and AI.
- Use of classic media, moving images, interactive installations and AR in art.
- Reinterpretation of Georg Trakl's works with the help of AI.
Aims of the exhibition
- Promoting understanding of the roles of AI in art.
- Enriching discussions and opinions about the role of AI in art.
- Dealing with the possibilities and limitations of this technology.
Criteria for submission
- Submissions should focus on contemporary works that address the topic of AI or in which AI is used as a collaboration partner.
- Submissions should include a written statement describing the work and the integration of AI into the creative process.
- The artists should be prepared to exhibit their work under Art in the Traklhaus and to take part in discussions and events related to the exhibition.
- The submission may contain an interpretation of a work by Georg Trakl from the artists' perspective using AI.
Fees and material costs
The selected positions will each be awarded a work usage fee of 1,000 euros. In addition, there is a technical and material costs budget in consultation. (Delivery and travel costs are not included in the budget).
Selection process
The submissions will be evaluated by a jury of art historians and media art experts.
Submission deadline
The deadline for submissions is December 20, 2023. 00:00. Please use the online form for submissions . The jury's decisions on the submissions will be communicated by email by February 20, 2024 at the latest. All selected artists will receive further information as quickly as possible.
We look forward to innovative and inspiring submissions to explore the intersection between AI and art, allowing audiences to experience artworks on both analog and digital levels.
