Since 2008, Gera has awarded a biennial art prize for painting dedicated to the well-known Gera painter and graphic artist Eberhard (Eb) Dietzsch. It is intended to commemorate this artist, who had a decisive influence on the creative scene in Thuringia for decades and was actively committed to the realization of humanistic ideals.
