Topic: Shifting boundaries

Exhibition period: January 19 to February 11, 2024 Exhibition location: Kunstverein Ebersberg, Im Klosterbauhof 6, 85560 Ebersberg

The Ebersberg Art Association e. As part of the 2024 annual exhibition, V. is organizing an art exhibition open to all media on the topic of “shifting borders”, which is associated with an art prize.

Borders exist geographically, spatially, politically, but also morally or ethically. They can be set as rules, forming ordering structures, but they can also be natural in nature. Limits are also set ideologically, as well as mentally or psychologically. They are dividing lines between material and immaterial constellations. They reflect nation-statehood and property or mark genres, categories and conditions. Shifting boundaries, whether social, political, cultural, economic, scientific or personal, often provokes conflict. The present is shaped by this in many ways. Crises and conflicts, changing perspectives and attitudes lead to upheavals, changes and shifting boundaries. Refugees try to overcome borders, a newly emerging morality sets new barriers. Innovations and technical developments are shifting familiar circumstances. The gender debate is expanding boundaries. Much more is currently in motion. How do artists perceive these developments? What do you have to say about it? What influence do the current “boundary shifts” have on life and work?

Professional artists of all disciplines without age restrictions are invited to submit works from all areas of fine art that match the theme. There is a free choice of artistic media (photography, graphics, installation, conceptual art, painting, new media, performance, sculpture, video, drawing, etc.)

The contributions selected by a jury will be exhibited from January 19th to February 11th, 2024 at the Ebersberg Art Association / Alte Brennerei Gallery in Ebersberg.
