About the event
At the end of the year, the Marzahn audience prize for visual arts, the “Beton Fuchs”, will be awarded for the second time. From Tuesday, November 28th to Friday, December 15th, 2023, the audience has the opportunity to vote for their favorite work in the Galerie M project room.
This year the top three places will be awarded. The winners will be announced on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 6:00 p.m., in the Galerie M project room, while the votes are counted publicly.
First place receives a certificate, a statuette and a cash prize of 500 euros.
Second place receives a certificate and a cash prize of 300 euros.
Third place receives a certificate and a cash prize of 200 euros.
The statuette and certificates will be presented on the day of the award, and all cash prizes will be transferred within one month.
Who can participate?
All artists, regardless of age, gender, level of education or nationality, can physically submit their works on November 25, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. in the project room Galerie M, Marzahner Promenade 46, 12679 Berlin. Participants from previous years are excluded from participation . The gallery will hold as many works until there is no more space. Each artist has two vertical square meters of wall space or two cubic meters of space available in the room. Artists can exhibit as many works as they can fit into the space provided. The works will be numbered and anonymized for voting.
Visitors have the opportunity to vote for their favorite work from Tuesday, November 28th to Friday, December 15th, 2023, during the exhibition's opening hours. Voting takes place anonymously in the project room with numbered cards. Once the prize is awarded, the names of all artists will be announced and the exhibition will continue to run until February 3, 2024. Legal recourse is excluded.
No perishable, explosive or dangerous items are permitted. Works that contain hate speech or incite violence and hatred against individuals or groups of people are excluded from participation in the exhibition.
The event is organized by the “Neue Kunst Initiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf” ( www.nki-berlin.de ) and is a cooperation project with the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district office. It is funded by the district culture fund and the BESD II program of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe and supported by degewo AG.

Since April 2018, artists from the New Art Initiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf (NKI) as well as national and international guest artists have been regularly playing in the Galerie M project space on the Marzahn Promenade. During this time, 22 highly acclaimed exhibitions as well as various cultural events have been organized under our own responsibility and in cooperation with the Marzahn-Hellersdorf Department of Culture.
