FREE ENTRY / Stadt Wien - Ottakring Art Prize 2025

"Democracy cannot defend itself by giving up on itself." This quote comes from none other than Hans Kelsen, the "father" of the Austrian Federal Constitution.

Inspired by Hans Kelsen, the 3rd edition of the Ottakringer Art Prize 2025 addresses the central questions of our coexistence. It is intended to offer both the submitting artists and the visitors to the exhibition in the spring an opportunity to engage with privileges that have apparently become self-evident.

The prize is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros, divided into 3 main prizes (The Golden Ottilie) of 2,500 euros each and 5 recognition prizes of 500 euros each. In addition, the award ceremony will take place on May 15, 2025, together with the exhibition opening in the presence of the 9 prize winners in an Ottakringer art space.
