FREE ENTRY / Wuustwezel Municipality - Call For Designs To Save The Lourdes Grotto Grooteind

The municipality of Wuustwezel (Antwerp, Belgium) has set up an art competition to breathe new life Into the 100-year-old Lourdes Grotto In Goorelnd. Anyone with creative Ideas can participate.

The cave was founded about 100 years ago, but concrete and Iron rot has compromised its stability. Over the years, the grotto has been subject to wear and tear, and the necessary repair work wasn't carried out. The maintenance costs are too high and therefore the cave must face a major transformation after these 100 years of neglect.

Wuustwezel local council is Inviting artists to take part in a competition for a contemporary, sustainable Interpretation of the site. The winner will receive a handsome cash prize to design, manufacture and Install the artwork.

Are you artistically Inclined and would you like to give a contemporary Interpretation to the Gooreind cave? Don't hesitate to submit your candidacy! On the advice of an expert jury, we would be happy to consult with you to turn this qulet green site Into a nice meeting place for the future.

The local government has launched a (design) competition for this purpose with a cash prize for the first five laureates, for elaborating their design. The winning designer will receive a cash prize of 20,000 euros to create, manufacture and install the work.
