About the event
OH Art Foundation invites U.S.-based artists to submit 2D work for “Rephrasis en Noir: The Visual Interpretation of Black Literature,” curated by Candace Hunter and presented as part of the 2nd Annual Black History Festival of the Arts at Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, IL.
We seek paintings, drawings, photography, digital, collage, and mixed-media works on the wall that respond to Black literature—specific books, poems, essays, or the broader experience of reading Black writers. Show us what you see when authors such as Toni Morrison, Octavia Butler, James Baldwin and many others have shaped how you look at the world.
