About the event

Pretty Girls Making Cool Shit is proud to announce the call for art for their second virtual exhibition! We invite women-identifying artists of all mediums to join us in celebrating the beauty and wonder of the animal kingdom through art – it is our pleasure to introduce Vivarium, curated by Ekaterina Popova and Alicia Puig.

About PGMCS: Established in 2018 by friends and artists, Lisa Britton and Alejandra “Alexa” Orozco, Pretty Girls Making Cool Shit empowers and supports emerging and professional female artists while being fun and informative.

About the curators: Ekaterina Popova is an artist, podcaster, author, coach, and the founder of Create! Magazine and Art Queens. Her mission is to empower artists and give them the tools to take responsibility for their own art career and find validation and success from within.

Alicia Puig is the CEO & Curator or PxP Contemportary, the Director of Business Operations at Create! Magazine, and an arts writer. Additionally, she and Ekaterina host The Create! Podcast and the pair have written two books together: The Complete Smartist Guide and The Creative Business Handbook.

Theme: Vivarium invites you to explore animals in all their forms, elegant wildlife, mythical creatures, playful pets, and everything in between. Unleash your artistic prowess and infuse your unique perspective into your creations. Vivarium will run online on the Pretty Girls Making Cool Shit website from October 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023 and will also be promoted via Create! Magazine and PxP Contemporary gallery.
