Strange Paradise: A Window into Surrealism

Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artworks to the ‘Strange Paradise: A Window into Surrealism’ exhibition with will take place in the Kay Daugherty Gallery. This is a national juried exhibition. All media and performance welcome; small to large-scale works; indoor and outdoor works; cash awards. This exhibition will be open to the public May 27 – Sept 18, 2022.

This exhibition will celebrate the works of artists who draw influence from symbols and themes from the Surrealist period of art history. From abstract “automatic” works to realistic scenes inspired by dreams and nightmares, Surrealism’s attraction for artists is revolutionary for creative potential. The works included in ‘Strange Paradise’ will unite the fantastical with the familiar and link art history with contemporary practice.
