The Billboard Creative (TBC) takes art to new heights with their curated shows, transforming numerous billboards throughout Los Angeles into platforms for mass-scale works of art. These captivating exhibitions feature a carefully curated selection of artists, showcasing the talents of emerging, mid-career, under-appreciated, and established individuals. To date, the artworks displayed in TBC's shows have caught the eyes of passing cars more than 67 million times, leaving an indelible mark on the city's cultural landscape.
The impact of TBC's exhibitions extends beyond the streets of Los Angeles. These remarkable artworks have garnered recognition from esteemed publications such as The Los Angeles Times, Flaunt Magazine, Huffington Post, and L'Oeil de la Photographie, as well as receiving coverage on influential platforms like NPR/KCRW's Art Talk and Creators Project. The artistic expressions showcased on billboards have transcended their physical presence, resonating with audiences and capturing the attention of art enthusiasts worldwide.
TBC embraces inclusivity by welcoming submissions from artists across the globe, regardless of their chosen discipline. If it can be transformed into a digital file, TBC has the ability to showcase it on a billboard, opening up endless possibilities for artists to share their creations with a vast audience. Selected artists are given the opportunity to be part of The Billboard Creative's prestigious Los Angeles Billboard Expedition, where their works are showcased in a manner that mimics a traditional gallery show, with the city itself serving as the exhibition space. These strategically placed billboards, situated in high-traffic neighborhoods near galleries, museums, and art districts, amplify the impact of each artwork, ensuring maximum visibility and exposure.
The success of TBC's exhibitions has not gone unnoticed. They have earned well-deserved coverage in renowned publications such as Hyperallergic, Flaunt Magazine, the Huffington Post, NPR, and The Creators Project, among others. These accolades solidify TBC's position as a leading platform for contemporary art, capturing the attention and admiration of both art enthusiasts and critics alike.
In addition to their remarkable exhibitions, TBC is committed to supporting artists through their art grant initiative. This year, they are thrilled to continue providing three artists with non-specific art grants of $1000 each. This initiative is open to all participants, offering support and recognition to artists regardless of whether their work is selected for the exhibition. By nurturing artistic talent and providing financial assistance, TBC aims to empower artists and foster the growth of creativity in the art community.
