In the year 2013, Apila Ediciones launched the Apila First Impression Award, an innovative initiative aimed at providing a crucial opportunity for illustrators who have not yet published any works with an ISBN—aside from those who have self-published. This award was conceived as a means to help these emerging artists take their first significant step into the professional world of illustration by allowing them to publish their inaugural professional album.
