In 2013, Apila Ediciones made a significant contribution to the world of illustration by creating the Apila First Impression Award. This award was specifically designed to offer aspiring illustrators, who have not yet published any works with an ISBN—excluding self-published efforts—the chance to publish their first professional album. The initiative aims to identify and nurture untapped talent, providing these emerging artists with a platform to launch their careers.
Since the award's establishment, the impact it has had on its recipients has been nothing short of remarkable. Almost all of the winners have successfully transitioned into the professional world of illustration, marking a significant milestone in their artistic journeys.
