Renowned artist and cultural philanthropist LIN Xiang Xiong has consistently placed the ideal of Peace at the core of his creative vision. Through his paintings and broader artistic engagement, he has sought not only to explore the human condition but also to advocate for harmony among people, cultures, and nations.

In December 2025, this vision will take a tangible form with the inauguration of the LIN Xiang Xiong Art Gallery in Penang, Malaysia. Conceived as more than just a space for exhibitions, the gallery will serve as a vibrant cultural hub—a place for artistic events, public dialogues, and cross-disciplinary encounters centered on the theme of Art and Peace. It is a space dedicated to fostering creativity in service of reconciliation, mutual understanding, and a more peaceful world.

As part of this broader initiative, Mr. LIN has established an annual Peace Prize, which he hopes will inspire artists worldwide to become artisans of peace—creators whose work not only reflects beauty and emotion, but also a deep commitment to social harmony. The prize recognizes works and artists that demonstrate a powerful contribution to peacebuilding through artistic practice.

The inaugural edition of the Peace Prize, launched in Paris, is symbolically aligned with the gallery's opening in Penang, linking two cities with rich cultural heritages and a shared belief in the transformative power of art.
