The Better Design Award (BDA) 2025—an international competition organized by the Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association—has officially opened its call for entries. Now in its second edition, the BDA continues to recognize outstanding achievements in design innovation and excellence from creators, studios, and companies worldwide. The award serves as a global platform to celebrate the transformative power of design across multiple industries.

The competition highlights innovation across three main thematic pillars:

For the 2025 edition, a new fourth category has been added to reflect the evolving design landscape—AI and Robotics, a forward-thinking addition that seeks to spotlight creative applications of artificial intelligence and robotics in design contexts.

The competition structure includes two primary entry categories:

• Product Design: focused on consumer products, tools, furniture, and more

• Design for Industry: emphasizing systems, solutions, and applications in industrial or commercial settings
