Liminality exists in many forms, each offering a different way to perceive and experience the world. Whether it’s through stories, physical spaces, or our very perceptions of time and memory, these in-between moments shape our lives in ways we often overlook. The feeling of living between two states—such as the mythic journeys of Persephone or Charon, the passage between life and death, or the transition from one stage of life to another—illustrates how these liminal experiences surround us constantly. The idea of a liminal space extends beyond mere geography, reaching into the intangible realms of thought, time, and memory. Yet, despite their prevalence, these spaces are often ignored, relegated to the background of our consciousness. We move through them without truly acknowledging their importance. In this fifth call for submissions, we ask you to take a moment to pause in these transient states. We encourage you to reflect on the thresholds you cross every day, to consider how these liminal spaces—these moments of transition—shape the journey from one point to another in our human experience.
