What happens when one of Europe’s most iconic literary works meets the creativity of a new visual generation? “Faust/Vizual” is an international graphic competition that challenges young artists to reimagine Goethe’s Faust—not through words, but through images, motion, and bold graphic experimentation.

Organized by the Wanda Siemaszkowa Theatre and the Chair of Graphic Design at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, the competition invites daring reinterpretations of this classic work. Whether through a powerful poster, an evocative animation, or a boundary-pushing visual experiment, artists are encouraged to engage with the text’s deep philosophical questions and timeless human themes.

More than just a contest, “Faust/Vizual” is a platform for artistic dialogue. It’s part of “CLASSICS 3.0”, a larger project that breathes new life into canonical literature by merging it with contemporary design and digital tools. The aim? To create new perspectives on old stories—and to prove that classics still have much to say, especially when seen through modern eyes.
