“Faust/Vizual” is an international competition that invites young artists and designers to create visual works inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Faust, one of the most important literary texts in the European cultural tradition.
The competition welcomes a variety of formats: traditional graphic posters, animated visuals, and other experimental or hybrid forms of visual expression. Participants are encouraged to interpret the themes, characters, and atmosphere of Faust in their own unique and contemporary way.
The project is jointly organized by the Wanda Siemaszkowa Theatre in Rzeszów and the Chair of Graphic Design at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów. Their goal is to inspire fresh artistic engagement with a literary classic, using both traditional and modern visual languages.
“Faust/Vizual” is part of the larger “CLASSICS 3.0” initiative. This broader cultural program focuses on revisiting classic works and presenting them through the lens of today’s digital and graphic arts. The competition serves as an opportunity for young creatives to take part in this mission by contributing original, visually striking interpretations of a text that continues to resonate across time.
If you’re a designer or visual artist with a fresh take on Faust, this is your opportunity to bring it to life.
