Participation is open to photographers who wish to submit one or more structured projects developed around a specific theme, narrative thread, or conceptual framework. Applicants are encouraged to work freely within their own visual language, whether rooted in classical photographic traditions or driven by experimental, interdisciplinary, and exploratory practices. Each project should be presented as a cohesive sequence and include between 5 and 20 images.
The selected grant recipients will share a total cash prize of €10,000. This amount will be allocated across three main awards, with €5,000 awarded to the First Prize winner, €2,000 to the Second Prize, and €1,000 to the Third Prize. In parallel, the New Generation Prize will recognize emerging voices in photography with an additional €2,000 grant.
The awards also include a series of prestigious exhibition opportunities designed to support the long-term visibility of the selected projects. One of the prize recipients will be invited to present a solo exhibition at PhMuseum Lab in Bologna, Italy, during ArteFiera 2027. The exhibition will be fully supported, with production expenses, travel, and accommodation covered by the organization.
In addition, PhEST’s curatorial team will select a project for a solo exhibition at the 11th edition of the PhEST Festival, taking place in Monopoli, Italy, in August 2026. A further opportunity will be awarded by Maria Ptqk, Head Curator of Getxophoto, who will select a project to be exhibited during the upcoming edition of the Getxophoto Festival in Getxo, Basque Country, Spain, in June 2026. The chosen artist will receive full exhibition production, an artist fee of €400, and accommodation for two nights during the Opening Week of the festival.
