The PleinAir Salon Art Competition, now celebrating its 13th year, was established by Eric Rhoads, the publisher of PleinAir magazine. Inspired by the esteemed French Salon initiated by the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, this yearly online competition consists of 12 monthly cycles, culminating in the grand event known as the PleinAir Salon Art Competition. Its primary objective is to foster artistic development and growth by promoting healthy competition.
This remarkable competition offers a total of $50,000 in cash prizes annually, granting artists a chance to showcase their talent and gain exposure. The winning masterpiece earns the coveted honor of gracing the cover of PleinAir magazine, further elevating the artist's profile. Moreover, each monthly winner receives well-deserved recognition and exposure through various channels, including PleinAir magazine's print publication, e-newsletters, websites, and social media platforms.
Furthermore, the champions from each monthly cycle automatically qualify for the prestigious annual competition.
