The John Ruskin Prize is an exciting multidisciplinary art competition that aspires to engage a wide range of artists, designers, and makers from around the world. Now celebrating its 7th edition, this esteemed competition has broadened its horizons to invite international submissions, offering participants an opportunity to engage with a compelling theme that investigates the complex intersection of perception and creation.
Open to artists aged 18 and older, the competition showcases a vast array of artistic mediums. It welcomes traditional practices like painting, sculpture, and textiles, while also embracing contemporary forms such as digital art, photography, animation, and mixed media. The prize is uniquely designed to highlight and celebrate artworks that connect with the overarching theme, “From the Eye to the Hand.” This theme encourages artists to explore how their observations of the world around them can be transformed into powerful artistic expressions.
For interested artists, the submission process includes a clear fee structure: £25 for a single artwork, £38 for three pieces. For international digital entries, the fees are set at £15 for one artwork, £20 for two, and £30 for three artworks. This fee structure is intended to make the competition accessible to a diverse group of artists, thereby enriching the overall artistic conversation.
