Marking four decades of diplomatic ties, China and the UAE have launched the "AFD Art Awards—The Art Fund Dubai Awards" to deepen cultural exchanges and celebrate artistic innovation. Jointly initiated by the Dubai Department of Culture and the Chinese Embassy in the UAE, and supported by ADQ and the BMW Group, the awards focus on contemporary Chinese artists who push the boundaries of creativity.​

This initiative represents more than just an art competition; it is a testament to the enduring friendship between the two nations. By combining governmental vision, international curatorial expertise, and commercial backing, the awards aim to create a dynamic platform where art serves as a bridge between cultures, fostering dialogue and mutual appreciation.
