Identity lives in the in-between—between what’s visible and what’s felt. It’s not fixed. It moves, evolves, fragments, and fuses. Memory, culture, desire, trauma, imagination—they all shape who we are. Identity can be a mask. It can be a mirror. It’s performance. It’s confession.
For artists, creation becomes a kind of excavation. They dig deep—through family history, social pressure, personal myth. Art becomes the question: Who am I when no one’s watching? And just as importantly: Who do I become when everyone is?
Some find a version of themselves in the process. They build it with their hands—with paint, textiles, clay, tech. And they say: This is me. Right now, this is who I am.
Others don’t seek answers—they embrace the unknown. Their work isn’t about clarity. It’s about challenging the idea that identity should be neat or knowable. They mix and remix themselves. Their art is layered, loud, and unapologetically complex.
And some create to survive. Because their identities have been silenced or erased. For them, making art is resistance. It’s a way of claiming space. A way of saying: You will see me.
This exhibition is for all of them—for the clear, the chaotic, the curious. We invite artists to unpack identity—to stretch it, twist it, honor it, fight it. To tell stories only they can tell. And maybe, in the process, someone else will feel seen too.
