The Boomer Gallery - Vogued: Call For Artists

We find ourselves at a pivotal moment in the evolution of artistic expression—an era where the very definition of art is shifting before our eyes. With just a few lines of code or a cleverly designed algorithm, it’s now possible to generate intricate visuals and immersive creations in mere seconds. This rise of AI-generated art poses both excitement and unease. Yet, at the same time, traditional techniques—painting, sculpture, printmaking—are experiencing their own renaissance. Artists are reinterpreting classical methods, pushing their craft to new emotional and conceptual depths.

So, where do these two paths intersect? Can the mechanical precision of machine-generated work coexist with the tactile soul of handcrafted pieces? What kind of artistic language will emerge from the fusion—or friction—between technology and tradition?

In the midst of this dynamic and ever-shifting terrain, it’s understandable to feel disoriented. The sheer pace of innovation raises more questions than answers. Are we moving toward a richer, more inclusive art world? Or are we losing touch with something deeply human?

While we don’t claim to have definitive answers, this edition of VOGUED seeks to pause, reflect, and engage. We invite artists and audiences alike to respond to this moment—not with certainty, but with curiosity, courage, and creative action. Through their work, we hope to discover what it means to be an artist now.

We are privileged to welcome the esteemed Mr. Tabish Khan as our Guest of Honour. A respected art critic and curator, Tabish will inaugurate our exhibition on August 8th, delivering a keynote address that sets the tone for the conversations to come.

Known for his passionate commitment to making art more accessible, Tabish Khan is a fixture in London’s art landscape. As Visual Arts Editor for Londonist, a contributor to Culture Whisper, and the voice behind FAD’s weekly column “What’s Wrong with Art,” his insights reach thousands. Beyond the page, he’s an active trustee for institutions like ArtCan, City & Guilds London Art School, and Discerning Eye, all of which share his mission to support artists and broaden public engagement with the arts.
