We are witnessing a transformation in the art world unlike any other in recent history. The rise of artificial intelligence and digital creation tools has made it possible to produce intricate, thought-provoking works at unprecedented speeds. With the right prompt, an artist—or anyone—can generate images, designs, and even conceptual pieces in seconds. At the same time, traditional art practices are evolving, fueled by renewed interest and experimental techniques that reimagine what painting, sculpture, and illustration can be.
This juxtaposition of automation and craftsmanship is reshaping how we view creativity itself. Will the future of art be defined by collaboration between human intuition and machine learning? Or will we see deeper divisions between the digital and the handmade?
The current artistic landscape is both exhilarating and disorienting. For many, the pace of change raises important questions: What does authenticity mean in an age of infinite reproduction? How do we preserve artistic integrity while embracing new tools?
While these questions may not yield easy answers, they are worth exploring—and that’s exactly what this edition of VOGUED sets out to do. We invite artists, critics, and viewers to engage with this moment. Whether through resistance, adaptation, or celebration, their responses will shape the conversation moving forward.
We are thrilled to announce that Tabish Khan, acclaimed art critic and curator, will join us as Guest of Honour. He will open the exhibition on August 8th, sharing his insights on the theme and the evolving role of art today.
Tabish Khan brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep passion for connecting audiences with meaningful art. As Visual Arts Editor for Londonist and a contributor to Culture Whisper, he offers accessible yet incisive commentary on the latest in visual culture. His regular column, “What’s Wrong with Art,” published by FAD Magazine, critiques the industry with both humor and urgency. As a trustee of ArtCan, City & Guilds of London Art School, and Discerning Eye, he actively supports initiatives that champion emerging voices and inclusive exhibitions.
