The Hopper Prize is pleased to announce that submissions are now open for the Fall 2025 artist grants. This year, the program is expanding its support for contemporary artists by increasing grant amounts to reflect its ongoing commitment to the creative community. Two artists will each be awarded $4,500, while four additional artists will each receive $1,000 in unrestricted funding.
Founded with the mission to provide financial assistance, professional visibility, and meaningful career validation, The Hopper Prize recognizes artists who demonstrate an exceptional level of dedication, conceptual rigor, and innovation in their practice. The grants are intended to empower artists at various stages of their careers, offering resources that allow them to further develop their work and gain exposure within the international art community.
Submissions are accepted through a bi-annual open call, during which a distinguished panel of jurors selects a new cohort of grant recipients. Each cycle emphasizes artistic excellence, originality, and the promise of continued creative growth. The selection process is conducted with integrity and transparency, ensuring that all decisions are made solely on the basis of merit.
Reflecting a belief in the inclusive and expansive nature of visual art, The Hopper Prize welcomes submissions from artists working across all media — from traditional disciplines such as painting, drawing, and sculpture to experimental practices in photography, video, performance, installation, and digital art.
Beyond direct financial support, the program also seeks to elevate artists’ visibility and reach. In addition to the six grant recipients, 30 artists will be shortlisted for special recognition. These artists will be featured in interviews published on The Hopper Prize’s online journal and promoted through their Instagram platform, which currently reaches an audience of over 150,000 art enthusiasts, curators, and collectors. Together, these initiatives form a comprehensive effort to highlight outstanding artistic talent and foster a supportive, global network of contemporary creators.
