VisArts is now accepting applications for the 2025 Emerging Curator Program, which offers an exciting opportunity for new curators to work with an established mentor in curating an exhibition. The selected Emerging Curator will have the chance to collaborate with an experienced curator to develop and present an exhibition in the Kaplan Gallery during the fall of 2025.
This program is designed for emerging curators or artists interested in curating who seek guidance from an experienced mentor. In addition to working on their own exhibition, the Emerging Curator will also assist their mentor with the execution of their exhibition. One of the key goals of this program is to expand education programming and improve visitor engagement, with a focus on developing public programming tools that encourage social interaction, creative dialogue, and audience participation.
VisArts will provide the Emerging Curator with a $10,000 budget to cover exhibition expenses and curatorial fees. Additional funding for promotional materials, printing, and support for the exhibition’s programming will also be available. This year-long program will begin in January 2025.
